Daikon or white radish chicken soup has been one of my fave dinner soup. It is easy to cook and need only minimum time to prepare. Recently I have been told that when cooking daikon chicken soup, One must add mushroom, dried scallops and wolfberries which will make the soup sweeter. Coincidently, I have that leftover dried scallops given by my neighbor sometime ago and still unused in refrigerator. So I thought why not try to make this chicken daikon mushroom soup the way I was told. All we need are: chicken, daikon, dried/fresh mushroom, and dried scallops and wolfberries and also a few slices of ginger. Soak the mushroom, wolfberries and scallops. Boil the water in the pot add the chicken, daikon, mushroom, scallops and ginger and let it simmer for about one or two hours. Half an hour before serving add that wolfberries and add salt to taste. Happy Saturday and enjoy.

i don’t have the talent in taking pictures, might get the wrong angle on a dish and end up looking like another dish 😦 maybe i can still make impressions of food through illustrations, guess that would be easier (?)

I dont think you need any talent to take pictures lol. All you do is aim and shoot and with time you’ll learn and perfected your skill. Try it will you. How about cook that spicy chicken that I usually see on the pino restaurant menu or cook something simple.

we always have that for dinner here in the Philippines. Its soup really makes me wanna eat more though we don’t really put mushroom in it here.

Yes, I have never put any mushroom etc. until a friend mentioned it and I was kinda curious and tried it. But I must say daikon alone with chicken/pork taste better.

This looks delicious. I never heard of wolfberries, so I googled it, and the search engine sent me to goji berries, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goji. Thank you so much for sharing. I learned something new!
