I came across The Culture Show utube videos of the art of Chinese painting narrated by Kate Bryan, former Hong Kong resident and the Fine Art Society’s head of contemporary who travelled to China to find out more about this tradition, a journey which coincided with a once-in-a-lifetime exhibition at London’s Victoria & Albert Museum.  In China, Kate learnt about the golden age of Chinese landscape and discovered why ink is still favoured over paint. She also learnt how the country’s unique aesthetic was heavily influenced by age-old standards of class and politics.  Click here for part one and part two of the Art Documentaries video.
